So in an effort to organize the massive amounts of yarn that I have aquired over the years (some of bought, but even more that has been given to me) I decided that the children and I would make that our project for this morning. What fun we had. Jessica and I began to sort the yarn by fiber content and weight (fingering, lace, sock, sport, worsted, etc). . .
And we sorted......
And sorted some more.....
Josh and Daniel not know yarn weights or fiber content, so they were the ball winders--fixing any skeins that were a mess into nice yarn cakes that feed from the middle.
And they kept winding.....
Then as we were working along, Jessica found this one yarn that was VERY different from the others....
We all agreed that it looked like mold, and as there was so little of it (only 2 yards) and who knows where it came from--we were very happy to throw it away.
After 2 1/2 hours and much sorting I was shocked as to the vast array of yarn I had.
And the ball winding boys?????
Well they were all tuckered out and will have to continue another day.
Special thanks to Matt, who took all the pictures, labeled all the bins and hauled the yarn everywhere!
And that is our trip to Yarnia! Yarn therapy at its finest!
